Comprehensive Measurements

Since 1982 the City of Nuremberg is conducting at regular intervals comprehensive pollution measurements in the city area. The information about distribution of air pollutants are available for interested citizens and organizations and provide a basis for urban planning.

In the course of a perennial monitoring program at more than 200 measuring points, which are distributed in 1-km distances over the entire city area, air samples are taken and analysed either in the in the monitoring van or in the laboratory.  From these results, the mean values for the measuring points and for 1-km² squares are calculated.
